Brasileiro de “Rupaul’s Drag Race” quer ajudar gays a ter amor próprio: “Não é egoísta escolher o melhor para você”

O brasileiro Bruno Alcântara fez sucesso como assistente de palco no reality “Rupaul’s Drag Race”. Modelo e ator, ele mora em Los Angeles, na Califórnia (EUA), e tem dedicado seu tempo também ao trabalho de coach, com foco em ajudar gays a aumentar o amor próprio e fazer mudanças positivas em suas vidas. Nas redes sociais, ele posta diversas mensagens para inspirar. Em uma delas, ele afirma que “não é egoísta escolher o que é melhor para você”.

“Como você vai fazer o seu melhor sem escolher o melhor ambiente, as pessoas certas, situações, ferramentas e tudo mais? Você é responsável por dar tudo pra conseguir o melhor de você”, ele afirma. “Para conseguir isso, precisamos deixar de lado essa crença de que estamos sendo egoístas por escolher o melhor para nós. A não ser que você esteja fazendo algo para machucar alguém, não é egoísta focar em você”.

Bruno ainda vai além e finaliza o texto da postagem com uma mensagem de positividade. “Isso mostra amor e comprometimento por você. Fazendo isso, você ensina outras pessoas como tratar você e inspira outros a fazer o mesmo com eles. Amor próprio é contagioso”. Arrasou!

How are you going to perform your best without choosing the best environment, right people, situations, tools, knowledge and so on? You are responsible for giving yourself everything you need to get the best of you. To achieve that, we need to let go of this belief that some of us have, that we are being selfish by choosing what is best for us. Unless you are doing something with the intention to hurt someone, it's not selfish to focus on yourself, be picky about what and who you want around you. You create your rules, and you know better about what works for you or not. And even if you say you are not quite sure, you have your whole life to figure it out, to learn about yourself and take whatever direction that makes you happy. We may meet people that put our needs before their own. Sometimes we meet people that just don't care about them, this is going to happen anyway and it's out of our control. But we can control and are responsible for the way we take care of our own needs, for loving and supporting ourselves no matter what comes in our way. It's not selfish to choose what is best for you.It shows love and commitment to yourself. By doing it, you are teaching people how to treat you and inspiring others to do the same for themselves. Self-love is contagious!
